lessons....

It is a well known fact that as we move forward in life we meet different people, experience different things and more than that we learn a lot during this journey called life. Few of the invaluable lessons that I have learned in the past three years of my college life are:

  1. After spending so many months with different people belonging to various parts of this country I have learned to analyze people. It was after coming to the college that I have realized the kind of diversity between different parts of India
  2. I have done at least 25 courses so far and I can testify that 90% of the professors are out there to make out lives hell.
  3. I have learned the art of working in a team, after actively coordinating events for the college fests, working for projects, making presentations I have learned to appreciate the importance team work.
  4. After working with all sorts of people, I have realize that most of the times people don’t really portray what they think. This world is full of so many bloody actors, and this thing applies to me also.
  5. It is said that learning from our own mistakes is the best thing that we can do , but I think that learning from other’s mistake is much better than the former , you don’t have to commit all the mistake yourself to learn from them. I have learned to observe others and learn from their experiences.
  6. One of the few qualities that I am proud to have acquired is art of time management, now I can prioritize my task in a very efficient way, spending the right amount of time on right tasks.
  7. I have realized the value of money. Till now we didn’t have much cash on our hand at a time, all our expenditure on food, cloths etc were made by our parents ( at least they were there in the decision making process for most of the time) but after coming to college we were supposed to spend the money in a judicial manner.
  8. But more than everything else that I have mentioned above, I have realized the importance of my family, it was only after living alone in a distant place away from home I have realized how important my family is to me.

Convo!!!!

Coming back from home after the vacations is something that I don’t like much; I really enjoy spending some quality time with my parents and some old school friends, besides this one of the obvious reason is the home cooked food. But this time the scenario was a little different, I was waiting to come back to college, the main reason was the convocation ceremony for our super senior batch on the 6th Jan, I was really looking forward it. It was a very pleasant and moreover a learning experience to meet my seniors after such a long time and talking to them about their experience with their jobs or the B-schools. And one of the common advice that I got from almost everybody was that life out there is not as comfortable and rewarding as it is in college. The kind of energy those people had on visiting the college and meeting their old buddies after almost six months was worth seeing and I am glad that I was their to witness it. Everything went smoothly, the degrees were given, and snaps were taken, followed by a real boring speech by our so called director and the chief guest.

But now all that fun has ended and I am back to the same old busy schedule of mine, lectures, labs and adding to add TIME classes. However this year many more important things are waiting for me or rather I should say that I am waiting for them to happen , such as GRE , research internship , BTP , and finally the last hurdle , CAT .Hopefully all goes well unlike the last semester which was a total crap.

Some things about me.....

My friends very often tell me that I am very secretive, and many facts about me are hidden from them even after many years of our friendship. So, finally I have decided to reveal some stuff about me:

1. I speak less, but with people who are very close to me I can go on and on for hours.

2. I am a peace loving and hence prefer solitude. Sometimes I enjoy being alone and think about anything under the sun

3. I can lie convincingly , I don’t like to do that but I guess that it becomes really important at some occasions , sometimes I hate myself for lying and probably I will get over this habit some day.

4. I am an introvert and do not share my personal thoughts with anyone, not even with my closest of friends or my parents. I can’t help it; I believe that there are certain things which can’t be discussed with others.

5. I like being regular and methodical in everything I do.

6. Confidence is something which I slightly lack, but don’t worry I am working on it.

7. I like to day dream, I really enjoy it at times!!

8. I wanted to be an architect but due to certain reasons didn’t go in that direction.

9. After passing out from my college I want to give something back to it.

10. I am very good at painting; one of my paintings was selected for a professional art exhibition.

11. I believe in striking a balance between everything I do, anything carried to an extreme causes a problem.

12. I feel more comfortable with less people around me, being in a crowded place suffocates me

13. I am fascinated by Aishwarya Rai.

14. I am very nostalgic and like keeping small stuff with me to remind about my past.

15. I have horrible concentration problem, at any given time there are at least two sets of thoughts going on in my mind.

16. Steve Jobs and John Nash are my role model, and I really wish if someday I could meet them in person.

17. Someday I would like to learn lawn tennis, guitar, golf (this game may seem boring to many, but it really interests me)

18. Computer engineering is something which I had decided that I won’t do at any cost , but finally I am doing that only , I think that some things are just destined to happen .

19. I want to do everything in life, and don’t want to restrict myself to just one profession.

20. Now I tend to forgive people very easily, but remember one thing, I may forgive but I never forget.
